报告题目:High harmonic generation from magnetic thin films

Abstract: High harmonic generation (HHG) was first discovered in atoms and small molecules. This comes as a surprise since traditional nonlinear optics predicts the maximum order does not exceed over 11th order. The order is so high that enters the soft xray region, with time scale on the order of attoseconds. The discovery in 1990s and rediscovery of HHG in solids in 2011 represents a departure from common research. In 2005, we found a strong HHG in C60 and in 2018 we extended it to magnetic thin films and monolayers. We find that the harmonic signals are strong and more important carry the spin information. In this talk, I will briefly discuss these new findings.
